Hey y’all! I serve as the Area Manager for Freshman Experience on West campus. I’m in my 2ndyear at Georgia Tech and I am one of the two professional staff advisors for the organization. I thoroughly enjoy working with our Emerged student advisors and Emerglings as my passion areas in student affairs focus on leadership development and service learning. Prior to Georgia Tech, I worked for the Savannah College of Art and Design as a student affairs professional and gained my undergraduate and Master degrees from that other state school in Athens, GA. If you’re ever on West campus, feel free to stop by my office in Fitten to say “hello!”
Hi everyone! I am a Hall Director here at Georgia Tech and one of the professional staff advisors for Emerging Leaders. I’m in my 5th year at Tech, and have spent my time working in the Freshman Experience program. The energy of first year students is contagious and is one of my favorite parts of the work I do! While at Tech, I’ve enjoyed doing work with our Body Image Committee, the Web of Brilliance Introvert Employee Resource Group, and I’m excited to start working more with the Leading Edge program this year! Before moving to Atlanta, I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and got my Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. I’m passionate about leadership development, coffee, the Wisconsin Badgers, and creating spaces for people to be their authentic selves. I can’t wait to connect with you through Emerging Leaders!
My name is Aman Aggarwal and I am a second year Computer Science major. So far at Georgia Tech, I have largely been involved in the College of Computing clubs and activities, being a Peer Leader in Montag, and of course Emerging Leaders! I love giving impromptu tours to visitors on campus and getting other people involved in activities going around. My time with Emerging Leaders has made my life at Tech so much more enjoyable and taught me so much about myself and my leadership skills. A fun fact about me is that I hesitantly went to a swing dancing event on campus because of a few fellow Emerging Leaders and I have not missed a swing dancing event since! I cannot wait to see you all around campus!
Hey everyone! My name is Grant Ashby and I’m a second year Biomedical Engineering Major. During my first year at Tech, I participated in the Grand Challenges Living Learning Community, joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity, became a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Fraternity, BMEs, and I’m also an Eagle Scout. A fun fact is when I was twelve years old, I was pushed by my mother toward a copperhead snake taking a hike as she then proceeded to run the opposite direction. Thanks, mom.
Hi there! My name is Hannah Brink, and I am a third year biomedical engineering/ pre-med student minoring in industrial design. I grew up in the DC area and went to high school in Hilton Head, SC. In addition to being an advisor for Emerging Leaders, on campus I am involved with Engineering World Health, GT Housing as a Peer Leader, undergraduate research, and Greek life. Off campus, I volunteer at Good Samaritan Health Clinic and MedShare Atlanta, and also work as an emergency department scribe at Atlanta Medical Center. Fun fact: I was born on Thanksgiving! EL has by far been my favorite and most impactful involvement at Tech, I am so excited to welcome a new set of first years to the family!
Hey guys! My name is Hannah Geil and I am a second year biomedical engineering student. I grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia, so Tech is not too far from home. Along with Emerging Leaders, I am involved in a campus ministry called Navigators, the Community Service Council, Pioneer (a BME journalism club), and intramural sports. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, hanging with friends, and going on adventures (like skydiving!). I’m looking forward to getting to meet the upcoming Emerging Leaders. For me, EL helped develop my leadership in ways I never imagined and connected me to people I now consider some of my best friends. I can’t wait to advise the future Emerglings and continue to grow with this amazing organization.
Hey everyone! My name is Sammi Gistren and I am a second year Environmental Engineering major. So far at Georgia Tech I’ve been involved in the Grand Challenges Living and Learning Community, Society of Women Engineers, Intramural Sports, Engineers for a Sustainable World and, of course, Emerging Leaders. Emerging Leaders has definitely been one of the best experiences I’ve had here and was a great way to meet new people and develop new skills! I’m so excited to be advising this year and share this year with you! A fun fact about me is that I have a hard time defining where I’m from. I am Swedish-American, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina but lived internationally for 13 years in Hong Kong and Brazil before coming to Atlanta! I have family all over the world and I love learning about new cultures
Hey Everyone! My name is Skye Mauldin. I am a third year chemical and biomolecular engineering major. This will be my second year as an advisor for Emerging Leaders, so I am super excited to return and contribute even more to this spectacular program! My on-campus involvement includes serving as Treasurer of Georgia Tech Dance Association (2014-2016) and being a member/advisor for EL. I also work at Square on Fifth as a Community Assistant. I love to travel, and I just came back from the summer GTL program. This past summer has been full of new experiences and wonderful memories in France, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, and Abu Dhabi! I am thrilled to be working with an awesome team this year to make your freshman year as amazing as possible, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about college, EL, service/campus involvement, majors, or life in general! If I can’t answer your question, I’ll make sure to connect you with someone who can! I look forward to meeting all of you! Lastly, congratulations for making it into Tech!
Hi! I’m a second year civil engineering major from St. Louis, Missouri. Besides being an advisor for Emerging Leaders, I am in the sorority Alpha Phi and am a TL for a GT1000 class. I love exploring different restaurants around Atlanta and watching just about any sporting event. I can’t wait to get to know everyone and begin our year together!
Greetings! My name is Trevor Worthy and I am a second year Materials Science and Engineering major here at Tech. I hail from the not-so-distant land of Marietta, Georgia, making me a less fruity, more human-like Georgia Peach. While at Tech, I have been involved with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), conducted undergraduate research, and have been a part of Emerging Leaders! This summer, my research involved controlling ion transport in various materials for memory and energy applications. Additionally, this upcoming year, I will be a Peer Leader for the Hefner-Armstrong Community! The growth I experienced and the connections I developed within Emerging Leaders have been incredible assets toward seizing the plentiful and varied opportunities available at Tech. I am very excited to be an EL ADVISOR this year, and I look forward to helping you develop and getting to know you all on a more personal level!
