Hey y’all! I serve as the Area Manager for Freshman Experience on West campus. I’m in my 2ndyear at Georgia Tech and I am one of the two professional staff advisors for the organization. I thoroughly enjoy working with our Emerged student advisors and Emerglings as my passion areas in student affairs focus on leadership development and service learning. Prior to Georgia Tech, I worked for the Savannah College of Art and Design as a student affairs professional and gained my undergraduate and Master degrees from that other state school in Athens, GA. If you’re ever on West campus, feel free to stop by my office in Fitten to say “hello!”

Hello! I’m super excited to be returning to EL as an advisor. I am a rising 3rd year Computer Science student here at Tech. Emerging Leaders is where I found my community my freshman year, and the experiences I’ve had through this organization have been invaluable. In my free time, I enjoy participating in service activities, going to the gym, and laying in the hammocks on Tech Green. I can’t wait to see the impact you make here!

Alex Correa

Hi! My name is Alex Correa, I’m a third year Civil Engineering Student, and I’m excited to be serving as my second year as an EL Advisor! I am from a city about an hour north of Atlanta called Gainesville, Ga.  Outside of EL, I really enjoy discovering new music, cooking and being way too emotionally invested in fantasy sports. EL was a very important part of my freshman year, and it’s my honor to bring that experience to the upcoming group of Emerglings!

Brian Epstein

Hi! My name is Brian Epstein (second from the left). I am a second year mechanical engineering major and am originally from Ocala, Florida – a.k.a the horse capital of the world. I am involved with EL because it serves as a way to truly change both the Georgia Tech and Greater Atlanta area communities for the better! In addition to being an EL adviser, I am a member of RoboJackets, a mentor for the BattleBots program, and an overly enthusiastic member of intramural sports teams. I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have!

Taylor Jackson

Hey! My name is Taylor Jackson.  I’m a 2nd year Computer Engineering major from Chesapeake Beach, MD.  I am so excited to be serving as one of your advisors for the upcoming school year! I love EL because it has allowed me to build close-knit relationships and pursue my passion of service. Outside of EL, I’m involved in National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), African American Student Union (AASU), and Lambda Sigma where I serve as Vice President.  I am also a manager for the GT Women’s Basketball Team.  I enjoy going out with friends, running, forex trading, playing and watching sports.  Hit me up anytime you need a workout partner, food buddy, or even just someone to talk to.  I look forward to having fun with this new class and watching y’all grow.

Hello Hello ~ I’m a 3rd year Industrial Engineer (IE). Excited for the year ahead and being able to support you however I can. Outside EL, I am a Housing RA and a small group leader for my campus church, JCA. I like coffee, cats, grocery shopping, self-development, and learning new languages. Want to chat or hang? Make awkward eye contact, shoot me an email, send smoke signals, etc. I will respond within 48 hours with the appropriate response. See you around campus!
(I’m the one on the right; can you guess where this is?)

Kenneth Kannampully

Hey guys!! I’m a second year CS Major (I promise I shower every day) and am originally from a small town called Mechanicsburg in Pennsylvania. I love dancing hip-hop, playing piano, hiking, and traveling (I just traveled across Europe this summer, so be ready for the typical “traveling abroad changed my life” clichés). Outside of Emerging Leaders, I’m involved in GITMAD, the Android Club here at Tech , CS + Social Good, and Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity. EL was easily one of my favorite organizations as a first year as it combined three aspects I value a lot: leadership, community, and service. I’m excited to extend my first year experience to you guys and you should totally hit me up!

Laila Mirza

Hey everyone! I am a second year chemical engineering major and am originally from the rural town of Ocean City, Maryland. I love watching/playing sports, reading, going to the beach, hanging out with friends and trying weird foods. I am a PL for Glenn, a member of the Society of Women Engineers, a TL for GT1000 and a member of AICHE. I joined EL because of its value in volunteerism and it is easily one of my favorite organizations on campus. I am so excited to watch all of you grow as leaders not only for the Georgia Tech community but also for the global community. I know your first year can be monumental in many ways, so if you ever need someone to talk to/hang out with/get food with, please feel free to reach out to me for anything at all!

Juliet Orth

Hey everybody! My name is Juliet Orth (all lit up), and I’m a rising Industrial and Systems Engineering major from Norcross, Georgia. I originally joined Emerging Leaders because of my passion for always wondering how we can serve the world around us, and EL truly can provide that and more! You’ll learn a lot about what drives you as a person while understanding how your particular strengths can help the people around you. Outside of Emerging Leaders, I’ve also been involved on campus as a Tour Guide, GT1000 Team Leader, student assistant at CODA, Tech the Halls member, and a member of a social sorority! The first year experience at Georgia Tech is such an incredible time that will go by crazy fast, and I would love to be a resource for whatever you all might need! I’m always down for food or an adventure, and I cannot wait to meet all of you.
